Tuition and Other Costs

For the Fall and Spring semesters, tuition is $13,000 per semester (US Currency), which covers participation in AIT courses with individual mentoring by the faculty, and personal attention by the AIT staff (such as airport pick-up, orientation, housing assistance, etc). Students are expected to select academic courses with an average load of 16-20 contact hours a week. While there is no charge for taking heavier loads, loads exceeding 26 contact hours a week are subject to approval.

For the Summer Term, tuition is $3,500 per semester (US Currency) or $3,000 per semester for students who also attend the regular Spring semester beforehand. Summer tuition covers participation in two AIT courses for a total of 6 credits, with individual mentoring by the faculty, and personal attention by the AIT staff (such as airport pick-up, orientation, housing assistance, etc).

AIT’s partner, the Babilon Language School, offers an intensive two–week long language course, which takes place just prior to the start of the AIT Fall or Spring semester program. The fee of this “Survival Hungarian Course” is approximately $320 (US Currency, but payable in cash in Hungarian Forints after arrival). Also, bear in mind if you’re attending the two-week intensive Hungarian language course, you should add an extra half-month cost to the above estimated figures.

In order to confirm your position in the AIT Budapest program, you must make a $200 (US Currency) deposit to be received within two weeks after the admission decision. This fee is deductible from tuition, but is non-refundable. Many schools have different payment procedures, therefore AIT will contact you after acceptance with your specific confirmation details and deposit requirements.

Instructions will be provided to you via email confirmation after acceptance. Payments should be made by CHECK (or money order) to AIT North America, Inc. and mailed to AIT NACD, PO Box 1244, Claremont, CA 91711. Your $200 deposit should be received within two weeks after acceptance and the remainder of tuition should be received at least 30 days prior to the first day of the AIT semester.

Other costs (such as housing, health insurance, residence permit fee, etc.) are to be paid in cash after arrival.
