School of Record: Pomona College

Starting with the Spring 2025 semester, official transcripts for AIT-Budapest students will be issued by Pomona College, an institution in the United States, under a new School of Record agreement. This change ensures easier credit transfer to U.S. institutions by aligning transcript formats with U.S. standards, including letter grades (with plus/minus distinctions) and a 1:1 credit conversion with U.S. semester credits.

During the transition period, partner institutions may request the previous transcript format from Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). However, only one official transcript will be issued per student, based on their home institution's preference. The full transition to Pomona College transcripts will be completed by Fall 2026.

AIT remains affiliated with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Students who attended AIT before Spring 2025 may request additional copies of their official transcript at any time; these will continue to be issued in the BME format.

Transcript Requests and Fees

  • One official transcript is issued free of charge to all students at the end of their semester at AIT. This transcript is sent directly to the student’s home institution.
  • Additional Pomona College transcripts (starting from 2025 spring) may be requested for a fee of $5 per copy.
  • Additional BME transcripts continue to be available free of charge.
